Join me to expess your Joy of Expression

Join me in the expression of your Joy. That is what this site is about.

  • What do you express (do, say, paint, sing, gesture, work at accomplishing. etc.) that you love to do? For surely, then it means you are living the truth of who you are.
  • When you do, then it means that I and others can dialogue with you about what we each resonate to. In so doing, will we not quiver with the energy of joy? A nice way to spend our time being who we are, huh?
  • Feel free to write, too, about what gets in the way, for such blocks are better exposed to the light of day than being hidden beneath a wall of blockage that, at worst, ensures death to the joy of our hearts or be slowed down, causing tension, anxiety, sadness, or even depression.
  • Companionship with others on line can bring you into contact with those of like-kind. Such a connection accompanied by the inhalation of a deep breath will gently wear away any challenges, thinning the wall that blocks forward movement so that you can be free to be you. Then only time is needed to reach the manifestation of your expression. And that is good.

Let's see how we each do.

Until recently, I have been slogging through a mud path to re-creating my writing life. From non-fiction that sold to creative writing that couldn't make headway by being read by agents or publishers or find any traditional means to reach others, I am being blessed with an opportunity to go the route of Print on Demand (POD). Not a techie or detail person in the least, my most recent challenge required that I find someone with the skills to manage the production stage of POD. I could do the creative work and the sales and marketing. But, the middle tasks were totally beyond me.

So it meant partnering. That wasn't easy because I found it hard to discover someone(s) who could/would fill the gap. Finally, led from a friend of a friend, I found a couple worth trying. And, as we have honorably struggled at times, we are finding a mutual desire to accomplish goals that neither of us could achieve singularly. And that if good.

Talk to me and others who begin to share on this blog, and let's see what kinds of networking we can accomplish.

Bluestem in Autumn

Bluestem in Autumn
Lynn Weiss, Lake Dallas TX

Great Spirit, As breath touches the Bluestem
Turned straw in the summer,
Gently creating circles, ellipses, and the vibrations of movement
That quiver from base to tip,
More restrained at the plant’s feet,
Broader reaching silhouetted against the sky,

I realize that my life, too, lives through its season.
Bluestem and I are in an ending phase,
Preparing for rebirth next year.
Dreamed in the autumn blush of lavender and blue,
The plant and I display our sheen of beauty,
Burnished by months of living.

Though fall foretells this ending
So tomorrow can come yet again,
Blessed by the soul that is ours,
With its remnants of wisdom within
Our spirits carry forth the vitality of life
Lived fully through our seasons of time.

One Snowflake at a Time

One Snowflake at a Time

Hushed time quietly wraps its arms around me, muted by snowflakes in deepest winter. Starkness around me, my inner core of power is softened, tenderized by changes reminiscent of youth. I’m lingering, at the near zero point of coldness. Yet, in this time of stillness, I begin to recall inner visions—visions nestled between snowflakes.

I recall a young woman, vulnerable to the point of mist. She has no idea of how to live. She has no sense of what to do or how to ask for help, for her feelings are dulled to the immobility of a constant ache.

I reach out to her as I reach within me now from a strength garnered from years of survival. I find myself in the stark surroundings she knew. Though time seems to stand still in the silence of a snowfall, I can bridge the years to her.

I hold her softly within my heart, while respectfully reassuring her soothingly. And I tell her the story that is both hers and mine. I tell her of the coming of a future, one not yet unfolded. I say, “I will show you the way even though the path is unknown to me. I have learned the means for us to face the unknown.”

“Forever, now, I will carry you within me so you can see through my eyes. No winter emptiness can cause us fear. No lack of growth in mid-winter bleakness will concern us, be they memories from your past or unknowns in our future
“We will leave footprints in the snow to show how far we’ve walked. Looking back I can see how many steps I’ve taken to bring us here. But looking forward, it doesn’t matter that we don’t know how many more we’ll take. After all, each answer to every question drifts to us one snowflake at a time”

Begin again

Hi everyone,
Being more creative than techie, blogging is rather difficult. Well, also, being ADHD and not wanting to sit for long at a computer doesn't help either. But, I am dedicated to giving a blood transfusion to my blot, The Joy of Expression. . . .

Because, I'm working with a Print On Demand Publisher, Koho Pono Press out of Oregon. Special people in a special state--refreshing from Texas.

The book is due out the end of February and I will have much more info about it in the near future.

Because, I've also done a little bit of writing for Story Circle Network out of Austin. Had a poem and a short, short story published and it feels good. Perhaps I'm making a much needed step across the wall that has thwarted my creative writing and art for over a decade. One of the best gifts that Story Circle Network has given me is to want some more profile information including information about whether I have a blog.

Well, how can I say that I do but don't post on it? So I must post or lose face, power, and the Joy of Expression I get from sharing the joy within me. So, on a bleak North Texas Sunday afternoon here I am "getting going" again.

How about I go for swim, indoors of course, and then come back and send you the two work I've had published for SCN. Then I will e-mail my blog and other information in and, say, about 4 to 4:30pm today and I will be a part of a "Living Blog."
Sounds like a good psychological trick to get me going.

Long Time, No See!

It's time to begin posting again. I commit doing that before 2010 passes. After all, The Joy of Expression MUST remain a part of my life as I hope it will of yours. Might it be time to grab hold of my flighty mind and and, at time aberrant behavior that scatters me in all directions and post REGULARLY. But, I'm not going to let that stop me.

After a Hiatus for the Growth of Expression

Catch up

It's been nine months since I last posted.
Question: Why?
Answer: Life

Seems I've been proceeding to find out what expression means to me--a me that, though an outgrowth of the previous chapters in my life, is quite different than every before as its synthesized, morphed and been culled. In the next few days, I'll share some of what I've learned. In return I'd like to hear from you about the form expression has taken this year for you.

Intentions of The Joy of Expression Blog
I intend this blog to be a means to communicate with you about your own creative expression--whether it be the living of a creative lifestyle, extending and experimenting with an artistic skill, helping others through your creative teaching, or . . . See next paragraph to learn more. I'll be working the bugs out of the system, so stay with me. All suggestions and comments gratefully received.

An Invitation to write on my blog

Through the Eyes of a Creative One

Dedicated to DANG, our Mother-lode

br> Through the eyes of a Creative Person, the adult world may seem enormous, chaotic and can be hurtful and confusing, but love and respect make all of this tolerable, so much so that beauty and joy emerge.
